The Body Training Solutions National Trainer Team is a dedicated and passionate group of Fitness Professionals. Although they have a wide variety of background and experience, what they hold in common is a strong sense of team and a commitment to creating successful long term committed and active customers.

 


 

Summary
BTS Trainers are exemplary role models at all times. They are expert in all aspects of group fitness and general fitness in the wider application.


Basic Skills Required
The BTS Trainer role has many facets, from the actual face-to-face training to the behind the scenes organization and follow up from Training. All BTS Trainers must have excellent time management/organizational and decision-making skills. A detailed knowledge of the health and fitness industry is imperative, along with outstanding communication skills, listening skills, and interpretative skills.
BTS Trainers are expert in the business and philosophy of Body Training Systems, not only the individual programs, the business and economic impact and potential on clubs. Not only do they teach the programs on a regular basis, they are active in the management and marketing of these programs at club level.


Personal Attitudes
BTS Trainers are friendly, outgoing and possess a confident and assured personality. At all times they exude enthusiasm for the club, its instructors, group fitness and BTS programs. They have a strong will and desire to create long term committed and active BTS customers.


Pre- Requisites
(Prior applicants need not apply again - information has been kept on file)

  • Be a BTS instructor

  • Have attended a BTS Summit event

  • Have at least six months teaching experience with a BTS program

  • Be registered with Fitness Australia or Kinnect Australia

  • Be an active part of a BTS licensee, which launches the programs on a quarterly basis

Skills specific to each Program
Along with the qualities mentioned above, the following skills and knowledge are advantageous for each program.

Group Power®

To become a BTS Group Power® Trainer a comprehensive knowledge of strength training in the wider application is advantageous, so a national strength training, or personal training certification is seen favorably.
The BTS Group Power® Trainer team consists of Physical Therapists, Personal Trainers, Exercises Science Specialists, Teachers and comprehensively trained group fitness experts.

Group Kick®

Authenticity in Physical Execution is crucial to the BTS Group Power® Trainer. Experience and knowledge of Martial Arts in the wider application is favorable though not compulsory. Be sure to check and double check your class video before submission.

Group Step®

Group Step® is an athletic program. The BTS Group Step® Trainer team is committed to outstanding Physical Execution, supreme fitness as well as a comprehensive knowledge of group fitness Instruction in the wider application.

Group Centergy®

Group Centergy® is a multi faceted mind body program. The BTS Group Centergy® Trainer team is committed to diverse knowledge of mind body disciplines in the wider application. The  applicant should be trained in mind body disciplines outside of Group Centergy® Training.
The BTS Group Centergy® Trainer team, in addition to the above mentioned, consists of individuals that have been active in education and experience specific to Yoga and/or Pilates.

Group Ride®

Group Ride® is an indoor cycling program. The Group Ride® Trainer team is committed to outstanding fitness as well as a comprehensive knowledge of cycling and group fitness instruction in the wider application.

Steps to becoming a BTS National Trainer

1. Submit Application.

2. The National Training and Program Director, Garry Hart reviews all applications.

3. The next step is an invitation to Trainer Auditions, which are held in Canberra at BTS Head office. The Trainer Auditions are 2 days of comprehensive Trainer Training. At the completion of Trainer Auditions the “rookie”, team is selected to continue the Training process.

4. The “Rookie” Training process consists of four complete Trainings. Two of these trainings are at the expense of the “Rookie” the second two are covered by BTS with a small subsidy to aid the process.

Commitment

BTS is committed to making the role of a BTS Trainer a great career choice for Fitness Professionals.
At minimum BTS Trainers are expected to complete (1) Training per month two or three days depending on the program) The BTS Trainer team flies out on Thursday or Friday and arrives home late Sunday Night. In very rare cases, the Trainers may arrive home on Monday morning depending on the proximity to Training
.


The only other commitment is that all Trainers must attend the Annual National Trainer Summit usually held in the latter part of each year.

Most of the BTS Trainers train more than one BTS program.

In the case that you teach more than one BTS program it would be advantageous to apply for all of the BTS Trainer positions. On occasion, we may be recruiting for some programs that have more need than others.

Application Process

If you feel you have the passion, commitment, talent, team attitude and you would like to join the BTS team, then complete the following items. Your application will be reviewed and considered by Garry Hart, National Training and Program Director.

The following is a checklist of all you need for your Trainer application:

  • A video of a current class, or classes in the case of a multiple application. The video should be a complete class and abide by all BTS delivery standards. Remember to check the video for sound and picture quality and do a self-assessment before sending it in. Incomplete or poor quality applications will not be considered.
  • On the video, commit to camera a 5-10 minute monologue on "Why you would like to become a BTS Trainer". You will be speaking directly to Garry Hart.
  • Complete the personal information sheet (found at the top of this page). These questions can be reproduced. Please avoid handwriting.
  • In order to support our licensees, we will need written approval from your facility owner and/or your Group Fitness manager for you to pursue the role of BTS Trainer. It is important for your management to understand that the role of a BTS Trainer is only a part-time employment opportunity with two to three days a month of availability required. Many of our awesome trainers are group fitness coordinators and managers, as well as active instructors at licensed facilities.
  • Include a current resume with your application.
